“De Hoge Dijk” has 27 holes with arguably the best greens of all golf courses around Amsterdam.
The Holendrecht and Bullewijk courses combined make up our 18 holes championship course (par-71) with A-level status. This course was designed by renowned Dutch course designer Joan Dudok van Heel. Holendrecht being flat and open, Bullewijk is undulating and treed.
The third course, named Abcoude, offers nine par-3 en par-4 holes. These holes provide nice challenges to both the novice golfer and the experienced player.
The 18-holes championship course is open to all golfers with a valid handicap registration (“golfvaardigheidsbewijs GVB” or international equivalent), or a handicap-54 certificate
The 9 holes Abcoude course is accessible for players without those credentials, as long as they have been approved to play by their teaching pro (“baanpermissie”).
Holendrecht provides the front nine holes of the championship course, laid out in a typically Dutch “polder” setting. Both wind and water are in play at all times, the wide fairways offering you some reprieve.
Bullewijk provides the back nine holes, and is built on undulated terrain. The trees and shrubs combined with the slightly narrower fairways make for a challenging trek back to the club house.
The nine holes Abcoude course provides a “polder” lay-out as well. While accessible to novice golfers, several holes will tempt experienced players to roll the dice and make risk-reward shots.
Both the championship course and the Abcoude course are qualifying courses.
Suffice to say that a round of golf on one of our courses brings a lot of elements in play. You will always find opportunities to leverage your best shots, but in return these same elements may also drive you to desperation on some holes. Playing here therefore is a true test of your skills.
All courses are open year-round, from dawn till dusk. During the winter you will play from the regular tee boxes (no winter tees), and play to the regular greens (no winter greens, except when the greens are covered by snow). As a result you can play qualifying rounds all year!
The championship course is renowned for its fast greens. Our experienced staff of greenkeepers maintain a cutting height of 3 mm, ensuring high stimp ratings especially during dry summers. The entire course is actually tightly maintained, enabling you to play in good conditions year-round.
The rate card with the greenfees for the various courses can be found here.
Before you tee off you may want to spend some time on the driving range (free of charge, with tee boxes with mats or grass), the pitching range, or the humongous putting green. The DR-ball dispenser accepts €2 coins, electronics codes or keys can be purchased at the golf shop.

Golf course “De Hoge Dijk” has been awarded the GEO certificate.
This certificate was developed by the Golf Environment Organization (GEO), an international organization driving environmentally responsible maintenance of golf courses. A certificate will be awarded only when stringent criteria regarding water, energy, and chemicals are being met.
Says Gerda Driessen, chair of Foundation “De Hoge Dijk”: ‘We take our responsibility for environmental protection on and around our golf course extremely seriously. This is not optional, we owe it to our environment.’
You can read the press announcement here (in Dutch).
The permanent display of art at the golf course “De Hoge Dijk” makes a round of golf all the more interesting. The collection of statues and installations can be found across the entire golf course, and is rotated on an annual basis. This outdoor exhibit is hosted by The “Stichting Beeld & Golf” (Foundation for “Arts and golf”).
The creators of these artworks are artists that work both in Holland and abroad. The combination of art and the environment it is displayed in, makes for interesting discussions. The artwork can be seen while playing a round of golf, or from the publicly accessible hiking trails and bike paths.
All artwork is for sale.
